Actor Gufi Paintal of Mahabharat fame dies at Age 79
Gufi Paintal, best known for playing the role of Shakuni Mama in BR Chopra’s TV show Mahabharat (1980), died at the age of 79.

Gufi Paintal, a seasoned actor, passed away on Monday morning at the age of 79, according to his family. Gufi, well known for portraying Shakuni Mama in BR Chopra’s 1980 television production of Mahabharat, passed away on Monday in Mumbai as a result of age-related health difficulties.
Sadly, he is no longer with us. At around nine in the morning, he died at the hospital. His heart surrendered. His nephew Hiten Paintal told news outlet PTI that he died quietly while sleeping.

Hiten previously revealed to PTI that his uncle was suffering from age-related health problems and was not doing well. “He had heart and blood pressure problems. He continued to feel ill while all of this was happening. Now that the situation was critical, we took him to the hospital for observation. He has spent seven to eight days in the hospital. He was initially critical, but he is now stable,” Hiten had previously told PTI.
His son, daughter-in-law, and grandchild all survive Gufi. At a crematorium in the suburban Andheri area, the final rites will be performed today at around 4 o’clock.

Gufi has appeared in movie and television appearances. He appeared in a variety of television shows, including Bahadur Shah Zafar, Mahabharat, Kanoon, Om Namah Shivay, CID, Ssshhhh Koi Hai Dwarkadheesh Bhagwaan Shree Krishn, RadhaKrishn, and Jay Kaniya lal Ki. In 1975, he made his motion picture debut in Rafoo Chakkar. The actor then made subsequent appearances in films like Dillagi, Desh Pardesh, and Suhaag.
